This morning my 9 year old son came to me with an idea. He wanted to write a blog, like his momma. (That’s my boy.) He wanted to write about how electronic gadgets can take over our lives if we aren’t careful and call it iPodcalpyse. I doubt he knows anything about the web address ipocaplyse that was supposed to happen 2 years ago or about the iTunes ‘no nuclear development’ user agreement that I found on Urban Dictionary. He came up with the clever title on his own. He already has a handle from my blog, which fits here: Calvin.
For the record, we aren’t a anti-tech family. My husband has a full service PC office, an iPhone, blackberry, and htc handheld. Between Calvin, his three sisters and me, we have two MacBooks, a Mac, an iPad, an iPad mini, an iPhone, and three iPod Touches. If I let him start this blog, he will write more from the dark side, as one who could get sucked into the tech black hole.
But I admit, that I really like his idea. I’m reserving this title and web address, while I discuss this with my husband. My brother, a 32 year old gamer, has offered to help him. And due to a bit of serendipity, the handle Hobbes works. Much to consider. We might be back.
